Meet Molly, the “M” behind MMC Interiors

My name is Molly Costello, and I create homes using interior design as a way to help people surround themselves with what they believe in. I believe that when you design a home thoughtfully, you’re not just choosing colors or furniture—you’re making space for your family, your friendships, your history, and your experiences. Those are the things that tell your story and make a home feel alive.

I’m a D.C. transplant and cozy-home enthusiast, working with clients both near and far through MMC Interiors.

I grew up in a home bursting with creativity and imagination. I moved often—from the Philly suburbs to the South, back to the Northeast, and eventually all around the D.C. area. With each move came a new opportunity to redefine my space. No matter where I landed, the first rooms I unpacked were always the bedroom and the kitchen—the places that make a house feel like home.

In every house growing up, our kitchen doubled as a craft station, stocked with bits and bobs begging to be played with: pipe cleaners, popsicle sticks, shrinky-dink paper, plastic lace cord in every color, polymer clay, gallons of glue for slime, yarn for knitting, feathers, glitter, beads, and embroidery supplies. I was lucky enough to create with all of it. I always had the space to explore textiles, experiment with tools, and design straight from my imagination.

As an adult, moving from one high-rise rental to the next, I learned that while I hate moving, I love recreating—reusing, repurposing, and redesigning pieces to make each space feel intentional and lived-in. These experiences shaped my belief that a home should grow with you, reflect where you’ve been, and support where you’re going.

At MMC Interiors, I offer design that helps you confidently make decisions—choosing paint colors and textiles, incorporating antiques or vintage finds, and creating useful zones throughout your home. From laying out a gallery wall to planning an entire room or designing an extension, every space has the opportunity to not only look beautiful, but to tell a story you’re proud and excited to share. A home filled with warmth, comfort, and meaning is one worth opening to others—and that’s what I strive to create with you.
